First off the field: Day 18

8-26-21-Ogunbowale

JACKSONVILLE – This was about preparing and moving forward.

It was also the first practice for rookie Trevor Lawrence as the official starting quarterback, with the Jaguars working Thursday for about two hours in 85-degree temperatures during Day 18 of 2021 Training Camp practice.

Lawrence, after competing and sharing repetitions with veteran Gardner Minshew II throughout '21 camp, was named the starter on Wednesday.

The team worked in helmets, shorts and shoulder pads as it prepared for the preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Jaguars on Thursday worked on situations specific to Sunday's game, working first-team offense and defense versus the Cowboys' schemes. They also worked on seven-on-seven/pass-rush drill, and worked extensively on special teams.

Running back Dare Ogunbowale and guard Ben Bartch spoke to the media following practice. Coverage of those availabilities can be seen Thursday on Jaguars Media channels and jaguars.com.
