Friday update: Ramsey questionable

JACKSONVILLE – One will play, and the other is less certain.

That's the latest on the Jaguars' starting cornerback tandem as the team prepares for its 2017 regular-season home opener.

Jalen Ramsey, the Jaguars' second-year starting cornerback, on Friday was listed as questionable on the team's final injury report of the week. He did not practice Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week after playing all 79 of the team's snaps in a season-opening victory over Houston last Sunday.

While some coaches opt against playing players on Sunday if they haven't practiced throughout the week, Marrone said he has no such policy.

"I just think you have to be smart," Marrone said as the Jaguars (1-0) prepared to play host to the Tennessee Titans (0-1) at EverBank Field Sunday at 1 p.m.

A.J. Bouye, who started and played all snaps at the corner opposite Ramsey against Houston, is expected to play and start Sunday against Tennessee. He missed Wednesday and Thursday with an illness before practicing full Friday.

If Ramsey can't play Sunday, an option for the Jaguars is starting nickel corner Aaron Colvin on the outside and having him kick inside in nickel situations. That would mean veteran Tyler Patmon – the team's fourth cornerback who made team after a productive preseason – playing outside in nickel situations.

"Being the fourth corner, I feel like you have to be ready no matter what," Patmon said. "All it takes is one play and you're in the rest of the game. I'm already in a situation now where I have to be ready at all times."

One Jaguars player, safety Calvin Pryor, was ruled out for Sunday's game. Pryor was limited with an ankle injury Thursday and did not practice Friday.

Quarterback Blake Bortles (right wrist), center Brandon Linder (knee) and running back T.J. Yeldon (hamstring) were all listed on the injury report this week but are expected to play Sunday. Yeldon and Bortles worked full all week after Yeldon missed the opener. Linder practiced limited all three days this week.

Nose tackle Abry Jones also is expected to play Sunday after being limited Thursday.
