In and out: Jones ruled out

week11

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars will be without their top two corners Sunday.

Sidney Jones IV, a starting cornerback for the Jaguars in the last five games, was ruled out of the team's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at TIAA Bank Field Sunday shortly before kickoff because of an Achilles injury.

The Jaguars placed their other starting corner, CJ Henderson, on injured reserve this week.

Rookie Chris Claybrooks and third-year veteran Tre Herndon will start at corner for the Jaguars with veteran DJ Hayden expected to play the nickel in his first game back after being on injured reserve the last five games with a hamstring injury.

Jones was among seven Jaguars players deactivated 90 minutes before kickoff Sunday. The others were wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. (hamstring), tight end James O'Shaughnessy (knee), quarterback Gardner Minshew II (thumb), offensive lineman KC McDermott, tight end Tyler Davis and linebacker Quincy Williams.
