The Jaguars signed rookie free-agent running back Lavarus Giles to a contract on Wednesday and waived first-year running back D.D. Terry (pictured).

Giles, 6-1, 230, was one of four players who participated in the Jaguars' two-day mini-camp last weekend on a tryout basis. Giles, a native of Benoit, Miss., played in all 12 games for Jackson State as a senior and finished with five touchdowns and 514 yards on 87 carries.

Terry signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2007 from Sam Houston State and spent the entire season on the practice squad.
