Jaguars activate DE Ryan Davis from practice squad

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed first-year defensive end Ryan Davis off the practice squad to the 53-man roster, the club announced today.

Davis, 6-2, 260, has been on the club's practice squad for the first 10 weeks of the season.  He was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the Jaguars in 2012 where he spent the majority of the season on the practice squad.  He saw his only action in a regular season game on Oct. 7 against Chicago.

The Tampa native was a three-year starter at Bethune-Cookman where he finished his career with 22 sacks and 49.5 tackles for loss.  He was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after totaling 21.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.  He attended Howard W. Blake High School in Tampa where he lettered in football and basketball.

Davis will wear jersey number 59.
