The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed third-year tight end Michael Egnew to the practice squad and waived offensive tackle Cody Booth, the club announced.  Also, rookie tight end Reggie Jordan was waived from the club's injured reserve list.

Egnew, 6-5, 260, was a third-round draft pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2012, the 78th overall pick.  Egnew played in 18 games for the Dolphins over two seasons and totaled seven catches for 69 yards.  He was waived by the Dolphins on August 22, 2014 and claimed off waivers by Detroit on August 26.  He was waived by the Lions on final cuts on August 30.

Egnew was a two-year starter at Missouri and finished his career with 147 receptions for 1,332 yards and eight touchdowns in 26 starts.  He graduated with a degree in hotel and restaurant management. Egnew was a first-team All-Big 12 selection as a senior with 50 catches for 523 yards and three scores.  As a junior, he earned consensus All-America honors after hauling in a career-high 90 passes for 762 yards and five touchdowns.    A native of Plainview, Texas, Egnew was a two-time Class 4A/Region I All-District IV selection as a wide receiver at Plainview High School.  He was also a standout performer in basketball and track.  He is the eighth of nine children.*  *
