JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars and Jacksonville Armada FC announced on Friday they are teaming up for a celebration of both the American and global versions of football on Saturday, Aug. 20.
Dubbed "Football Night In Jacksonville," the Armada starts the extravaganza with a 2:30 p.m. (rescheduled from 7 p.m.) North American Soccer League match at Community First Park against Minnesota United FC, presented by Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The night will then continue when the Jaguars kick off at 7:30 p.m. for their preseason home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at EverBank Field.
Fans that show their Jaguars/Bucs ticket to the Community First box office will receive 50 percent off a ticket to the Armada/United FC match. Special price tickets to the match are also available by visiting jaguars.com/fnij and entering the promo code JAGS.
"We are thrilled to team up with the Jacksonville Jaguars on what should be an exciting day for fans of both sports," said Armada FC owner and CEO Mark Frisch. "This is a great opportunity to showcase what a tremendous sports culture we have on the First Coast."
"The Armada graciously agreed to move their match time earlier than scheduled so that fans of both teams wouldn't have to choose," said Jaguars President Mark Lamping. "Our organizations are partners in the Jacksonville sports landscape, and we're glad that fans of both teams can experience both kinds of football on the same day."
Jaguars mascot Jaxon de Ville and members of THE ROAR will be at the match to join Armada fans in cheering on their "Boys In Blue" to victory. Jaxon will also take part in the Section 904 "March to the Match" tradition before kickoff.
After the Armada match is over, fans can head over to EverBank Field to catch the Jaguars/Bucs game and see Armada players line the PROWL to welcome the Jaguars to the field.
Discounted tickets to the Jaguars game are available by visiting jaguars.com/fnij and entering the promo code ARMADA.
