The first annual "Draft Day Dash" - a 5K run at twilight for Jaguars fans - will be held on April 21, the first day of the 2001 NFL draft.

Registration begins Friday, and applications can be picked up at local YMCA locations. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each of 12 age groups. The course will wind through downtown Jacksonville and end at the 50-yard line at ALLTEL Stadium.

The 3.1 mile race is open to all ages. Runners will receive T-shirts, a team poster and commemorative race posters. Cameras will be posted at the 50-yard line to display runners on the Jumbotron as they cross the finish line. The Draft Day Dash is being held in conjunction with the annual Budweiser FanFest/Select-A-Seat that coincides with the NFL draft. Entertainment will be provided all day by the Mosquitos.

In addition, a "Centipede Race" will also be held, featuring teams of 13 adult runners or six youth runners. A prize will be awarded to the first centipede team that crosses the finish line.

The registration fee is $16 until April 10 and $20 after April 10 and up to the day of the race ($30 and $34 for centipede teams). For information, call (904) 633-6318 or visit www.jaguars.com
