Jaguars encourage fans to donate to food drive

As they do each year, the Jacksonville Jaguars are partnering with Winn-Dixie and Second Harvest North Florida for a food drive at the Jaguars game against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday.  Fans attending the game are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items before the game at collection barrels outside the entrance gates at EverBank Field.

With one out of four children in north Florida not knowing when they will eat their next meal, Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. and the Jaguars are trying to do their part to help through the Winn-Dixie Hunger Relief program. In addition to Sunday's food drive collection, Winn-Dixie and the Jaguars are asking customers to help make a difference in one or two additional ways:

  • By purchasing specially-marked Winn-Dixie brand products including  water, coffee, diapers and condiments, whose manufacturers have generously donated to this program
  • By generously donating any amount they choose at the point of checkout though easy-to-use tear pads/scan sheets found at the register All dollars raised by tear pads/scan sheets will go directly to local Feeding America-affiliated food banks, including Second Harvest North Florida, which in turn will provide nutritious, fresh foods to people struggling with hunger.  For every dollar donated, Winn-Dixie customers will help neighbors in need.
