Raise your hand if you're feeling the offseason blues. No touchdowns. No tailgating. No sunny afternoons at TIAA Bank Field. And to top it all off, it's tax season – the least wonderful time of the year for the numerically challenged.
Thankfully, the Jaguars have introduced a new offseason partner to help ease the tax season burden and put some spring back in your step as we await the start of the new league year. Welcome to the Jaguars family E-file.com!
E-file.com offers income tax preparation software that provides an efficient online filing process and helps taxpayers receive their refund faster while charging lower fees than the majority of tax preparers. As a benefit to the biggest Jaguars fans, the company will provide a 50 percent off coupon code for E-file.com's tax software to every season ticket member who renews for the 2019 football season.
"This partnership will allow taxpayers from the First Coast and Jacksonville area the opportunity to save thousands on tax preparation fees this year," said Aaron Rosenthal, cofounder and director of marketing for E-file.com.
In 2017, the National Society of Accountants found that the national average fee to prepare an itemized 1040 tax return was $273. For taxpayers who do not itemize, the national average was $176. For those taxpayers with business income, the national average charged by tax preparers, increased to $457 per 1040 tax return.
E-file.com was cofounded by North Florida natives and UNF College of Business graduates Rosenthal and Robert Reynard. The homegrown company made for a natural partnership with the Jaguars.
"I moved to the Jacksonville area in 1995, the same year that the Jaguars held their inaugural season. I remember the excitement then and have been a fan of the team ever since, so I'm thrilled that E-file.com and the Jaguars are now partners," said Rosenthal.
In addition to season ticket members, income tax software will be supplied to all Jaguars employees, players and their families completely free of charge.
