JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars did more than add new defensive linemen Thursday.

They welcomed back an old one, too.

Defensive end Jason Babin, who spent part of 2012 and the entire 2013 season with the Jaguars, re-signed with the team on Thursday, a move that came four days after he had voided the final two years of his contract to become a free agent.

Babin, 33, who will enter his 11th NFL season this year, has 62.5 career sacks, with 7.5 coming last season for the Jaguars when he was the starter at the team's Leo pass-rushing position.

Babin's re-signing came shortly after the team signed free-agent defensive end Chris Clemons, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks. The Jaguars also signed former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Ziggy Hood earlier in the day.

The Jaguars on Wednesday signed former Minnesota Vikings running back Toby Gerhart, former Denver Broncos offensive guard Zane Beadles and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Dekoda Watson to free-agent contracts.

The team also traded quarterback Blaine Gabbert to the San Francisco 49ers and re-signed veteran cornerback Will Blackmon to a two-year contract.
