Jaguars Re-Sign Safety Josh Jones

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed fifth-year S Josh Jones, the team announced today.

Jones, 6-2, 220, signed with the Jaguars during the 2020 offseason before starting 13 games at strong safety and totaling a career-high 83 tackles and one INT. Prior to joining Jacksonville, Jones played two seasons in Green Bay, where he was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and one year in Dallas. His four-year career totals include 48 games played with 25 starts, 202 tackles, eight passes defensed, 3.0 sacks and two INTs.

Before his NFL endeavors, the Walled Lake, Mich. native attended North Carolina State University, where he was named Honorable Mention All-ACC in 2016. He finished each of his three seasons in Raleigh, N.C. in the top five on the team in tackles.

Jones attended Walled Lake Western High School, where he lettered in football, playing safety, running back, wide receiver and cornerback; and track and field.
