Jaguars sign Ikponmwosa Igbinosun

The Jacksonville Jaguars today signed first-year defensive end Ikponmwosa "Ike" Igbinosun to a reserve/future contract, the club announced.  His name is pronounced: e-po-MO-sa  Ig-BEEN-o-sun.

Igbinosun, 6-3, 286, was originally signed as a rookie free agent by Pittsburgh in 2012 and has also spent time with Dallas and Buffalo.  He was on the Cowboys practice squad in 2012 and spent parts of the last two seasons on the Buffalo Bills practice squad.

A native of Rahway, New Jersey, Igbinosun played four seasons at Southern Connecticut State where he earned first-team All-Northeast Conference honors as a senior.  He registered 58 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his final collegiate season.  Igbinosun had 40 tackles as a junior.  He attended Rahway High School where he led the team to two conference titles and the No. 1 ranking in the country.
