Jaguars sign Jalen Parmele

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed third-year fullback/running back Jalen Parmele to a contract, the club announced today. 

Parmele played in 24 games for Baltimore from 2008-10 and totaled 33 kickoff returns for 845 yards (25.6 avg.) and seven rushes for 44 yards. He totaled 19 special teams tackles including 12 in 2010. He entered the NFL as a sixth-round draft pick of Miami in 2008. He was signed by Baltimore off the Dolphins practice squad as a rookie.    Parmele did not play in 2011 after spending the preseason with the Ravens and being waived on final cuts.

A native of Midland, Michigan, Parmele was a four-year letterman at Toledo where he rushed for 3,119 yards and 28 touchdowns.  He ranked ninth in the country as a senior with 1,511 yards on 276 carries. He attended H.H. Dow High School in Midland, where he lettered in football, track and basketball. He was born in Boynton Beach, Florida.
