Jaguars Sign Offensive Lineman Josh Walker; Claim Safety Calvin Pryor Off Waivers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed third-year OL Josh Walker and claimed fourth-year S Calvin Pryor off waivers from Cleveland, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars released fifth-year OL Earl Watford and placed rookie WR Dede Westbrook on the club's reserve/injured list.

Walker, 6-5, 330, has appeared in 15 career games and has previously spent time with Houston, Green Bay and Indianapolis. Walker appeared in one game for the Texans in 2016 after being elevated to the active roster from the practice squad on Nov. 8, 2016. Prior to joining the Texans, Walker played in 13 games for the Packers during the 2015 season, seeing action on offense and special teams. After going undrafted in 2014, Walker signed as a rookie free agent with the Colts, and was waived during final roster reductions, and eventually signed to the Packers' practice squad on Sept. 23. Walker attended Middle Tennessee State University from 2010-13 and appeared in 49 games with 34 starts, never missing a game during his collegiate career.

Pryor, originally a first-round pick (18th overall) by the New York Jets in 2014, has appeared in 44 career games and has totaled 191 tackles (130 solo), 14 passes defensed and two INTs in his three seasons in the NFL. Pryor was traded to Cleveland prior to the 2017 season on June 1, after spending his first three seasons (2014-16) with the Jets, where he started a career-high 15 games in 2016, finishing third on the team and first among DBs with a career-high 79 tackles. In 2015, Pryor started 12 of 13 games and posted 71 tackles. As a rookie in 2014, Pryor appeared in all 16 games, making 11 starts, and register 67 tackles. Pryor was a standout at Louisville and started 32 of 38 career games, totaling 218 tackles, 2.0 tacks, seven INTs and 14 passes defensed. A native of Port St Joe, Fla., Pryor was a standout at Port St. Joe H.S. where he played DB and RB and was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 2015.

The Jaguars currently have 53 players on their active roster.
