Jonathan Quinn earns player of the week honors

I had a good game this week in our 34-25 win over the Frankfurt Galaxy. I completed 12 passes for 132 yards and no interceptions, while throwing a season-high four touchdowns. My efforts this weekend earned me NFL Europe League Offensive Player of the Week honors.

But winning this prestigious award doesn't mean as much to me as winning does. My No. 1 goal over here is to win. Getting the Player of the Week award is a team effort and it shows how good our supporting cast is and how well we played against Frankfurt.

Things worked out well for me to connect on the four touchdowns. Our first play of the game was a touchdown. My Jaguars teammate, safety James Watkins, had recovered a fumble on the 16-yard line and on the first play of scrimmage, I hit Ahmad Merritt in the endzone for the score. On the second TD, the Frankfurt defense left a receiver open and I hit him and he made a good move to get into the endzone. The third touchdown was a screen pass to our running back. He got some good blocking and made some moves to get downfield for the score. The last score was a bootleg on the four-yard line. There was nothing overly special about the four touchdowns, but our guys got open at the right times.

For the second consecutive week, the running game has put together solid games, which has helped the offense tremendously. Our backs ran for almost 150 yards and a seven-yard average. Now our offense can both pass and run. Whenever you are one-sided, you are handicapped a little bit. It's great to open up the running game, and it has been a tremendous lift. Now our opposing defenses have to prepare for both aspects of our offense.

With last weekend's win, we move to 3-2 on the season and are in second place in the league. This weekend we take on the first-place Dragons, who are 4-1, in Barcelona. I see it as a game we have to win. We will be going in with the attitude that we can win the game and that we need it.

The team is really starting to gel now. We are starting to play full games on offense and defense. Our special teams are better. If we keep going in the direction we are right now, we could easily be in the World Bowl on June 30.
