JACKSONVILLE – He has been reliable for a long time. And really good, too.
Foyesade Oluokun continued to be all those things for the Jaguars this past Sunday, when he also made big plays in big moments – standing out in a Week 1 victory and earning recognition as AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Oluokun, an eight-year NFL veteran in his fourth season with the Jaguars, recorded 10 tackles with an interception and a forced fumble in a 26-10 Jaguars victory over the Carolina Panthers at EverBank Stadium this past Sunday.
He was the only NFL player in Week 1 with double-digit tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.
Oluokun led the Jaguars in tackles in 2022 and 2023 and has recorded more than 100 tackles in five consecutive seasons. He previously was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16 of 2021.
