Mock Draft Tracker 3.0: No change at No. 1, opinions split at No. 25

Moc Draft Tracker Cover 3.0

JACKSONVILLE – The story at the top remains the same, with no sign of change.

Clemson University quarterback Trevor Lawrence remains the consensus choice among analysts to be the No. 1 overall selection by the Jaguars in the 2021 NFL Draft, with all analysts in the third jaguars.com mock draft tracker projecting Lawrence there yet again.

That's no surprise at this point, and it appears likely to remain that way.

A look at what analysts said this week about Lawrence at No. 1 overall:

*Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports:  "Realistically, the Jets are on the clock because unless Trevor Lawrence gives up football, he's the first pick in the draft. There's no drama surrounding Urban Meyer's selection."

*Josh Edwards of CBS Sports: "There is little debate over Jacksonville's pick and that is because Trevor Lawrence is entrenched there."

*Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports: "We might get some faux 'speculation' that the Jaguars won't pick Lawrence No. 1. Don't believe it. This is happening."

*Joe Marino of The Draft Network: "Lawrence should go ahead and start looking for a home in Duval County."

That yet again leaves all mystery about the Jaguars and Round 1 to their second selection – the No. 25 selection overall, where analysts this week were torn mostly between offensive line, defensive line and safety.

Oklahoma State offensive tackle Teven Jenkins was the selection of three analysts at No. 25, including Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports.

"You really can't go wrong with the QB-OL first-round combo," McIntyre wrote. "Urban Meyer's Jaguars are going to be dangerous if they can protect Trevor Lawrence."

Wrote Marino: "Jenkins is a smooth pass blocker that can provide that answer for the Jaguars."

Four analysts selected Alabama defensive tackle Christian Barmore at No. 25, including Jaguars and NFL Media analyst Bucky Brooks.

"The lack of beef on the interior contributed to the Jaguars' woes against the run in 2020; Barmore is a 300-plus pound run stopper with disruptive pass rush skills," Brooks wrote.

Two analysts projected South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn at No. 25.

"Horn's physicality differentiates him from the rest of this class," Ben Linsey of Pro Football Focus wrote.
