JACKSONVILLE – New week, new name of interest.

A week after the 2020 NFL Draft's most-coveted defensive tackle was the player most draft analysts projected to the Jaguars at No. 9 overall, the projection of choice at the spot this week is the draft's most-coveted cornerback.

Jeff Okudah, a cornerback from Ohio State University long considered a likely Top 5 selection, was the player most projected to the Jaguars at No. 9 overall in this week's jaguars.com 2020 NFL mock draft tracker.

"Yes, it is unlikely the top corner in this class stays on the board this long - but the fit makes total sense," Josh Norris of Rotoworld wrote of Okudah to the Jaguars at No. 9.

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com and Dan Kadar of SB Nation also projected Okudah at No. 9.

"Okudah has the physical tools, technical game and mentality to become an All-Pro cornerback early in his career," Brooks wrote.

While Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown was the most popular selection at No. 9 in last week's tracker, only R.J. White of CBSSports.com projected him there this week. Two analysts – Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA Today and NFL Network analytics expert Cynthia Frelund – projected South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw at No. 9.

"Kinlaw can be one of the foundational pieces this defense needs after shedding several of its previous stars," Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz wrote.

Other players projected this week to the Jaguars at No. 9: cornerback C.J. Henderson of Florida, safety/linebacker Isaiah Simmons of Clemson and offensive tackle Mekhi Becton of Louisville.

"I don't know how much luckier the Jaguars can get; finding a top-five talent in Simmons sitting here at No. 9 is a steal," NFL Media draft analyst Chad Reuter wrote of Simmons, with Ryan Wilson of CBSSports.com adding: "At 6-feet-7, 360 pounds, Becton is a mountain of a man, but he moves like someone who weighs more like 260."

Louisiana State linebacker Patrick Queen continued to be a popular selection by analysts for the Jaguars at No. 20; he was projected there by two of nine analysts in this week's tracker.

"Queen was a late bloomer for LSU in 2019, but showed the type of athleticism and range NFL teams now covet in linebackers," Kadar wrote.

Others projected to the Jaguars at No. 20: Penn State edge Yetur Gross-Matos, Louisiana State cornerback Kristian Fulton, Alabama safety Xavier McKinney, Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, Florida cornerback C.J. Henderson and Auburn defensive lineman Marlon Davidson.

"Few defensive prospects are better suited for a plug-and-play role as a rookie than Fulton, a refined cornerback who is difficult for opposing receivers to shake," Middlehurst-Schwartz wrote.
