JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars are wasting no time signing rookies.

A day after the Jaguars signed one draft selection on the opening day of rookie minicamp, the team on Friday signed the second player from the 2017 NFL Draft class.

Marquez Williams, a fullback and seventh-round selection from the University of Miami, on Friday signed his rookie contract with the Jaguars. The signing took place early Friday evening at EverBank Field.

Williams (6-feet-1, 260 pounds) played his first three collegiate seasons at Mars Hill (N.C.) University, transferring to Miami for his senior season. He started five games for the Hurricanes as a senior. He was a two-time All-South Atlantic selection at Mars Hill.

Williams is the second of the team's seven '17 draft selections to sign with the team with seventh-round cornerback Jalen Myrick (Minnesota) signing Thursday.

The Jaguars also selected Louisiana State running back Leonard Fournette (first round), Alabama offensive lineman Cam Robinson (second round), Illinois defensive end Dawuane Smoot (third round), Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook (fourth round) and Ohio linebacker Blair Brown (fifth round).
