JACKSONVILLE – Five down, two remaining.

The Jaguars on Thursday continued getting their 2018 rookie class under contract, signing third-round selection Ronnie Harrison.

Harrison, a safety from the University of Alabama, signed his rookie contract after the second 2018 Organized Team Activities practice at the Dream Finders Home Practice Complex Thursday. All NFL rookie contracts are for four seasons; terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"I'm just excited," Harrison said. "I'm ready to get out there and show what I can do. I'm blessed to be in this position and am ready to work.  I just want to say thank you to my mom and my family and everybody who's been pushing me."

Harrison (6-feet-3, 214 pounds), the No. 93 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, played both free and strong safety during a three-year career at Alabama. A second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection in 2017, he forewent his senior season to enter the draft.

Harrison registered 74 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 2017, also intercepting three passes and defending four. He started all games as a sophomore in 2016, registering 86 tackles with two interceptions and seven passes defensed.

He led Alabama with eight special teams tackles in 2016.

The Jaguars now have five '18 selections under contract: Harrison, fourth-round offensive tackle Will Richardson (North Carolina State), sixth-round quarterback Tanner Lee (Nebraska), seventh-round linebacker Leon Jacobs (Wisconsin) and seventh-round punter Logan Cooke (Mississippi State).

First-round defensive tackle Taven Bryan (Florida) and second-round wide receiver DJ Chark (Louisiana State) remain unsigned.
