Jaguars defensive back Scott Starks (pictured) and defensive end James Wyche (pictured) took time out to support the Jaguars' 2009 season ticket renewal effort when they dropped in on members of the Jaguars Champions Club. The group was volunteering time in making phone calls to season ticket holders from the press box at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

Wyche, who signed a new contract with the Jaguars this week, and Starks, who also recently signed to a new contract, visited with the volunteers as they continued to make evening customer service calls to 40,000 Jaguars season ticket holders to assist them in renewing their 2009 season tickets.

"These guys really do a great job up here," said Wyche. "It was great to meet with them and see how much they are doing to encourage our fans to renew their season tickets. They sure make a lot of phone calls."

During the offseason the Jaguars convert the 150-seat press box at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium into a call center where up to 40 volunteer members of the Champions Club, themselves all season ticket holders, make calls to assist in the renewal effort each night from February to April.

The Champions have made more than 150,000 calls to season ticket holders during the last three years and have already dialed up 10,000 general bowl seat holders over the past three weeks to help answer any questions about renewing season tickets. They provide a variety of information on renewing or adding seats prior to the season ticket renewal deadline of March 20.

Wyche and Starks spent an hour touring the call center as the Champions called season ticket holders, taking time to sign autographs and pose for pictures (Starks and Wyche are pictured with Champion volunteers Jason Marley, left, and Sean LeePow). The players also took time to chat to some of the season ticket holders the Champions were calling, while also thanking the Champions for their volunteer efforts.
