Teacher Appreciation Day

During a pregame presentation at the Jaguars vs. Texans game on Sunday, September 28, the Jaguars welcomed Superintendent Ed Pratt-Dannals to introduce the 2008 Duval County Public School Teacher of the Year, Lucretia Miller. Lucretia is the Media Specialist at Chaffee Trail Elementary School, and has been an educator for the last eight years. Joining in the presentation, was Kimberly Jackson, Sports Marketing Manager for Winn-Dixie, and David McDaniel, Vice President of Grocery for Acosta Sales, who served as a representative for Campbell's.

In addition to celebrating the Teacher of the Year, Winn-Dixie and Campbell's recognized Teacher Appreciation Day by inviting over 1,200 Duval County Public School Teachers to attend the game in support of the Campbell's Labels for Education program. For more than 30 years, Labels for Education has been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell Soup Company family of brands. Winn-Dixie is an area partner with Campbell's for this ongoing program to benefit schools through providing equipment for classrooms and extracurricular activities. Today, more than 80,000 schools and organizations are registered with Labels for Education, benefiting more than 42 million students nation-wide. Over the years, more than $100 million in merchandise has been provided through this program to America's schools.

Some of Campbell's main brands in the Labels for Education program are Campbell's Soup, Chunky Soup, Select Harvest Soup, Soup At Hand, V8 Beverages and Soups, Campbell's Tomato Juice, Pace Picante Sauce and Salsa, Prego Italian Sauce, Swanson Broths and Poultry, Supper Bakes, Campbell's Gravy and Pepperidge Farms.
