Jaguars wide receiver Jerry Porter underwent surgery on Thursday for repair of a hamstring tendon that was not healing. The surgery was successful and he is expected to be out approximately six to eight weeks and the team is hopeful that he will return for the regular season opener on Sept. 7. The 30-year-old Porter signed with the team as an unrestricted free agent this year following eight seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He has 284 career receptions and has started 63 of 104 career games played.
