Jaguars sign linebacker Audie Cole as unrestricted free agent

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed sixth-year LB Audie Cole as an unrestricted free agent, the club announced today.

Cole, 27, has appeared in 57 career games in five years in Minnesota after originally being drafted by the team in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Cole's career totals include 65 tackles (40 solo), 3.0 tackles for loss and two passes defensed. He appeared in all 16 games during the 2014 and 2016 seasons, tallying a career-high 42 tackles during his sophomore campaign in 2013.  

A native of Monroe, Mich., Cole attended North Carolina State University, where he finished his collegiate career ranked 12th in school history with 328 tackles. He was a semi-finalist for the 2011 Butkus Award after he led the team with 132 tackles during his senior season.

Cole attended Monroe (Mich.) High School, where he played QB, S and LB and threw for 3,285 yards and 23 TDs in his career. He lettered in baseball and basketball, in addition to football.
