Jaguars Announce the 2023 Whataburger Coach and Player of the Year

The Jaguars Foundation, Action Sports Jax and Whataburger have partnered to present Whataburger Coach of the Year to Coach Brian Braddock of St. Augustine High School and Whataburger Player of the Year to Tiant Wyche Jr. of Mandarin High School.

The Jaguars recognized Coach Braddock by providing a $2,500 grant back to his athletic program and surprising him with two tickets to Super Bowl LVII. Coach Brian Braddock was also recognized as the Jaguars' Don Shula NFL Coach of the Year nominee for 2023. Every year, each of the 32 NFL clubs nominate a high school coach for the Don Shula NFL Coach of the Year Award and coaches are evaluated based on character, integrity, leadership, dedication to the community, commitment to player health and safety and on-field success.

RB Tiant Wyche has been named the 2023 Whataburger Player of the Year. During his time at Mandarin High School, Wyche finished with a high school career-high of 2,628 rushing yards backed by 324 total carries. Wyche ended with a staggering 35 all-purpose rushing touchdowns and 38 receptions for 660 yards. Completing his success on and off the field, Tiant Wyche, a senior at Mandarin High School was named All Gateway Offense Team and F.A.C.A District 5 Player of the Year.
