The Jacksonville Jaguars, Dave & Buster's, and WAPE 95.1 will be conducting an open National Anthem contest for the chance to perform at a 2006 Jacksonville Jaguars game. The winner will sing the Anthem at the Jaguars vs. Patriots game at Alltel Stadium on Sunday, December 24.
The contest will take place on Monday evenings at Dave & Busters. Singers wanting to participate in the competition can begin submitting CD demo's, with a song of their choice, to Dave & Buster's beginning on Wednesday, October 4, 2006. Twenty singers will be called back to perform live at Dave & Buster's on each of the following dates:
Monday, Oct.16 – 5:30-7:30
Monday, Oct. 23 – 5:30-7:30
Monday, Oct. 30 – 5:30-7:30
Monday, Nov.6 – 5:30-7:30
The finalists from each competition will be invited to compete in the preliminary finale at Alltel Stadium on Thursday, November 9 and then will return to perform at Dave & Busters where one winner will be announced on Monday, November 13.
The judges will consist of Jaguars wide receiver, Ernest Wilford, a member of WAPE's Morning Zoo, Curtis Dvorak aka Jaxson de Ville, a management representative from Dave & Buster's, and a member of the Jaguars Special Events Department.
