In and out: Cann, three other starters out

Week7inactives

A.J. Cann won't play for the Jaguars Sunday.

The Jaguars made the veteran right guard inactive 90 minutes before kickoff of the team's game against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., Sunday.

Cann, ruled out with a shoulder injury sustained last Sunday in a loss to the Detroit Lions, became the fourth Jaguars starter ruled out for the Chargers game. Weakside linebacker Myles Jack (ankle), tight end Tyler Eifert (neck) and safety Jarrod Wilson (hamstring) were ruled out Friday.

The Jaguars' other inactives Sunday: rookie quarterback Jake Luton, rookie cornerback Luq Barcoo, defensive tackle Daniel Ekuale and rookie tight end Tyler Davis.

Head Coach Doug Marrone on Friday said the Jaguars would use a substitution plan at tight guard if Cann couldn't play. Rookie Ben Bartch replaced Cann against the Lions, but Marrone said veteran center/guard Tyler Shatley could get work at guard against the Chargers.

Second-year defensive back Brandon Watson will start at safety for Wilson.
