Jags add four players to practice squad

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed four players to their practice squad, the club announced today. Linebacker Alvin Bowen and center Bradley Vierling were with the club in the preseason. Also added to the practice squad today were third-year quarterback Brett Ratliff (pictured) and rookie cornerback John Destin.

Ratliff, 6-4, 224, was originally signed as a rookie free agent by the New York Jets in 2007 and he spent the season on the club's practice squad. He was inactive as the club's third quarterback for all 16 games in 2008. He was traded to the Browns in 2009 and spent the entire season on the active roster. The former Utah standout is a native of Yorba Linda, Calif.

Destin, 5-11, 191, spent the 2010 preseason with the Bills after signing as an undrafted rookie. He was a three-year letterman at Tulsa and helped the team to back-to-back GMAC Bowl wins. He led the defense with four interceptions as a senior including one returned for a touchdown. A native of Belle Glade, Fla., Destin attended Royal Palm Beach High School.
