The Jaguars have claimed offensive tackle Wayne Hunter, 6-5, 303, off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks and Hunter practiced with the Jaguars on Monday morning. In another move, the team signed veteran punter Toby Gowin.

Hunter, 24, was a third-round draft choice of the Seahawks in 2003; the 73rd overall pick. Jaguars guard Vince Manuwai, Hunter's teammate at Hawaii, was the 72nd overall pick in the '03 draft.

Coach Jack Del Rio continues to seek depth at the critical tackle position. The Jaguars had previously signed veterans Mike Williams and Stockar McDougle to fortify their offensive line.

Gowin, 31, signed with Atlanta as an unrestricted free agent in 2005 but was released before the season. The nine-year veteran has spent time with Dallas, New Orleans and the New York Jets. The 5-10, 167-pound punter has played in 127 career games and missed only one game from 1997 to 2004. He has 629 career punts for a 41.2 yard average with 190 punts inside the 20.

The Jaguars have 86 players on their roster.
