Jags give five to Europa

The Jaguars have allocated five players to NFL Europa, including DT Walter Curry, OT Ryan Gibbons, DB Jamar Landrom, OT Pete McMahon and DB David Richardson (pictured). All five players spent time on the Jaguars practice squad in 2006. This will be Curry's second season in NFL Europa.

As a result of the allocations, the Jaguars will receive five roster exemptions plus two bonus roster exemptions because the Jaguars allocated a minimum of two players (Curry, Gibbons and Richardson) with a specific level of experience. The Jaguars' five allocated players will now attend an NFL Europa training camp in March in Tampa.

Following that training camp, they depart for their assigned teams in Europe. The players will receive their team assignments on Feb. 21.

The NFL Europa season begins on April 14. The final game of the regular season is June 16 and the league's championship game will be on June 23 in Frankfurt, Germany.

Three Jaguars players – Curry, Elton Patterson and Carlos Joseph – participated in the 2006 NFL Europe season. Frankfurt defeated Amsterdam, 22-7, in last year's title game.
