The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed wide receiver Troy Williamson on injured reserve and activated rookie wide receiver Tiquan Underwood (pictured) from their practice squad to the 53-man roster. First-year pro Nate Hughes was signed to the practice squad.
Williamson suffered a shoulder injury last Sunday against Arizona late in the second quarter and did not return. He earned a starting job in the preseason after finishing with a team-high 12 receptions for 267 yards. The former Minnesota Vikings draft pick has played in 49 career games with 25 starts and totaled 87 receptions for 1,131 yards and four touchdowns.
Underwood, 6-1, 178, was the Jaguars' seventh-round pick in this year's draft. He was waived on September 5 and signed to the club's practice squad the next day. He started 32 of 49 games in four seasons at Rutgers and finished with 132 receptions for 1,931 yards with 16 touchdowns. As a junior, he led the team with a career-high 65 receptions for 1,100 yards along with seven touchdowns.
Hughes was waived on Monday after playing in the first two games, finishing with three receptions for 15 yards.
All nine of the club's draft picks from this year's draft are now on the active roster. Of the Jaguars' 53 roster players, 26 are new to the team including 14 rookies.
