Jaguars select Robinson in Round 5

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars have selected Denard Robinson in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Robinson, a running back who played quarterback at the University of Michigan, was the second selection of the fifth round Saturday. He was the 135th overall selection.

Robinson (5-feet-10, 199 pounds) played quarterback at Michigan, but is expected to play running back in the NFL. He worked at wide receiver at the Senior Bowl.

The Jaguars had used the No. 2 selection on Texas A&M left tackle Luke Joeckel, then selected safety Johnathan Cyprien from Florida International with the first selection of the second round. The Jaguars selected University of Connecticut cornerback Dwayne Gratz with the second selection in Round 3.

The Jaguars selected South Carolina wide receiver Ace Sanders in the fourth round.
