JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed fifth-year QB Ryan Nassib to the 53-man active roster, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars placed fourth-year SCalvin Pryor on the team's reserve/injured list. The Jaguars also waived DB Doran Grant from the team's reserve/injured list.

Nassib, 6-2, 223, has appeared in five NFL games and has completed 9 of 10 passes for 128 yards and one TD. Nassib was originally drafted by the New York Giants in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft and he played under Jaguars Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tom Coughlin for three seasons (2013-15) while Coughlin served as the head coach for the New York Giants. Nassib was released by the Giants during the 2017 offseason and signed with the New Orleans Saints on June 12, but was later released on Sept. 2.

Nassib, 27, was a four-year letterman at Syracuse University (2009-12) and played under Jaguars Head Coach Doug Marrone, who served as Syracuse's head coach from 2009-12. Nassib also played for Jaguars Offensive Coordinator Nathaniel Hackett for three seasons at Syracuse, including one season (2010) when Hackett served as the quarterbacks/passing game/tight ends coach and two seasons (2011-12) when Hackett served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks/tight ends coach. At Syracuse, Nassib broke many of the school's records in 2012, including total offense (6,188 yards), yards per game (476.0), passing yards (3,757), touchdown passes (26), completions (295) and first downs (328).

Nassib was part of a Syracuse offense that featured a 3,000-yard passer, 1,000-yard rusher and 1,000-yard receiver in 2012 for the first time in school history while eclipsing 500 yards of offense in seven games.  Nassib finished his collegiate career with a school-record 9,190 passing yards, 791 completions and 1,312 pass attempts while ranking second with 70 touchdown passes. Nassib, a native of West Chester, Pa., attended Malvern Prep and his brother, Carl, plays DE for the Cleveland Browns.
