JACKSONVILLE – Jalen Ramsey has been traded.

Ramsey, whose back injury forced him from the Jaguars' last three games while he persisted in an early-season trade request, on Tuesday night was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for three draft selections.

The Rams gave the Jaguars a first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, a first-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft and a fourth-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Ramsey, a two-time Pro Bowl selection and the No. 5 overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, requested a trade following the Jaguars' Week 2 loss to the Houston Texans. Ramsey during that game became upset with Head Coach Doug Marrone not challenging what he believed was an incomplete pass, after which he and Marrone had words on the sideline.

Ramsey reportedly became upset with the Jaguars' front office following a meeting with Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tom Coughlin immediately after the game.

Ramsey started a victory over Tennessee the following Thursday, but missed the ensuing three games with a back injury. Ramsey also missed practice immediately after the Tennessee game because of sickness and because of the birth of his daughter.

Ramsey started the first 51 games of his Jaguars career before the back injury.
