Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Derek Landri has signed on to be the featured personality at the 18th Annual Cathedral Foundation Golf Classic to Benefit Meals on Wheels.

Landri played for De La Salle High School where he was the third player ever to receive California Player of the Year honors. He played collegiately at Notre Dame where he ranked ninth in school history for tackles. As a senior, he earned All-Major Independent first-team honors from The NFL Draft Report and set the single-season record for the school with four blocked kicks. Landri became the third player from Notre Dame to be drafted by the Jaguars.

The Cathedral Foundation of Jacksonville, Inc. is proud to have Landri as the featured personality for the Golf Classic, which will be held on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Deerwood Country Club. The event's guest emcee will be Nikki Preede, WJXT news team reporter. Prizes will be awarded to top golfers, with other special hole prizes, and a silent auction following the tournament. The event should be a fun-filled and exciting day for all participants.
