JACKSONVILLE – We're hours away. At last.

That's the time remaining until the 2021 NFL Draft, with the overwhelming mock-draft story for the Jaguars remaining the same as it has been throughout the pre-draft process – that Trevor Lawrence is the projection at No. 1 overall.

Lawrence, a quarterback from Clemson University who has been unanimously mocked to the Jaguars No. 1 overall in every version of the Jaguars.com 2021 mock draft tracker, again was the projection there by every analyst featured in this 14th and final version.

The draft is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Here's what analysts were writing and saying about Lawrence this week:

*Tony Pauline, Pro Football Network: "The Jaguars select the best quarterback to enter the draft since Andrew Luck. Trevor Lawrence is a true franchise passer with limitless upside."

*Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Media: "Nothing changed wire to wire. Lawrence was the obvious pick when Urban Meyer took the head-coaching job in January, and Lawrence is still the obvious pick today."

*Chad Reuter, NFL Media: "The Jaguars will soon have their new franchise quarterback. Lawrence probably already has a real estate agent scoping out properties in Jacksonville."

*Charles Davis, NFL Media: "Finally! Let's make it official. Lawrence and new head coach Urban Meyer have one common goal: compete for titles -- the sooner, the better."

*AJ Schulte, Pro Football Network: "The city of Jacksonville would bring out the pitchforks and torches if anyone but Trevor Lawrence were to go No. 1."

*Michael Renner, Pro Football Focus: "His NFL readiness and experience really set him apart in a talented QB class."

The final '21 mock draft tracker features 25 analysts. Unsurprisingly, the group was far more split on the Jaguars' second first-round selection at No. 25 overall – and Texas Christian safety Trevon Moehrig continued to be the most popular selection there among analysts.

"Moehrig's versatility is a real value here for the Jags; he's a safety who could start for some teams as a slot corner," Lewis wrote.

Alabama defensive tackle Christian Barmore, like Moehrig a popular selection at No. 25 throughout the past several months, also remained popular there in recent days.

"Building up the middle of the defense is a top priority for the Jaguars; the beefy defensive tackle should spark improved production against the run," NFL Media and Jaguars Media analyst Bucky Brooks wrote of Barmore.

Others projected to the Jaguars at No. 25 in the final mock: Penn State edge Jayson Oweh, Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Virginia Tech offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw, Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney, Georgia cornerback Tyson Campbell, Ohio State offensive lineman Wyatt Davis, Southern California offensive tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker, Washington cornerback Elijah Molden, Central Florida safety Richie Grant, Tulsa linebacker Zaven Collins, and Michigan edge Kwity Paye.

"Paye could be the first pass rusher off the board; I could also see him being around in the 20s. Solid value, if he is," Schrager wrote.
