NFL 101: Pederson Coach of the Year

16X9-101-COTY

JACKSONVILLE – Doug Pederson is Coach of the Year.

Pederson, who in his first season as the Jaguars' head coach led the team to an AFC South title and an appearance in an AFC Divisional Playoff, on Tuesday was announced as the AFC Coach of the Year for 2022 by the 101 Awards.

The Jaguars, after finishing with the NFL's worst record in 2020 and 2021, finished the regular season 9-8. They won their last five regular-season games, then beat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-30 in an AFC Wild Card Playoff game at TIAA Bank Field.

The Jaguars lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC Divisional Playoff game in Kansas City, Mo., this past Saturday.

Each full season since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, the 101 Awards have honored the top players and coaches of the year, making it the nation's longest-running awards event dedicated exclusively to the National Football League. The honorees for the 2022 season will be presented with their awards at the 53rd Annual 101 Awards Gala, scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Westin Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City.
