JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed TE Brenden Bates to the practice squad, the team announced today.
Bates, 26, originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Chicago in 2024. He has appeared in 16 games (three starts) during his NFL career with the Bears (2024), Jets (2024), Browns (2024-25) and Texans (2025) and totaled four receptions for 48 yards. Bates, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, attended Kentucky (2018-23) where he played in 57 games (26 starts) and recorded 26 receptions for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Bates spent time with Head Coach Liam Coen (2021, 2023), DE Josh Hines-Allen (2018) and RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. (2018-22) with the Wildcats.
