Josh Lima is entering his first season with the Jacksonville Jaguars as coaching assistant/game day operations in 2025.
                   
                  
                    Lima most recently served as the head football coach at Cumberland High School (R.I.). He left Cumberland as the winningest coach in program history. In his final season at the helm of the Clippers, Lima helped guide Cumberland to a state semifinals appearance and QB Evan Spencer to the 2024-25 Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year award after Spencer passed for 1,117 yards and eight touchdowns and rushed for 1,126 yards and 14 touchdowns. Lima won the Rhode Island Division I Coach of the Year award the year prior following a 10-game winning streak to begin the season and a 6-0 divisional record. While at Cumberland, Lima was responsible for all aspects of the program including coaching, fundraising, equipment management, field management and student-athlete recruitment.
                   
                  
                    Prior to his time at Cumberland, Lima was the offensive coordinator at La Salle Academy (Providence, R.I.) for six seasons (2009-14). At La Salle, he coached back-to-back Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year award winners with QB Anthony Francis winning in 2012-13 and RB Josh Morris taking home the hardware in 2011-12. Francis passed for 2,013 yards and 18 touchdowns while throwing just two interceptions en route to a state playoff berth. Morris rushed for 1,278 yards and 16 touchdowns and helped lead the Rams to the state championship. With La Salle, Lima was responsible for all offensive preparation and decisions including play calling and in-game adjustments.
                   
                  
                    Before La Salle, Lima spent two seasons as an assistant coach in Rhode Island with Portsmouth High School (2007) and Cranston High School (2008). He also served as an NFL Contract Advisor Intern at the Law Office of Douglas Lilly in 2008. There he was responsible for client preparation for the NFL Draft and attended NFL Pro Days as a representative for the firm.
                   
                  
                    Lima graduated from Sacred Heart University with a bachelor's degree in sports management in 2008. He played one season of college football at Saint Anselm College in 2004. Lima and his wife, Lucia, have a daughter, Carmella.
