Dr. Kevin Kaplan started as the head team physician for the Jaguars in 2013 after serving as an assistant team physician from 2009-2012. He is responsible for all orthopedic matters dealing with injuries to the musculoskeletal system and works closely with the athletic trainers, physical therapists and sports scientists.
Dr. Kaplan is board-certified in orthopedic surgery with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine and maintains a private practice at the Orthopedic Specialists of Jacksonville. He completed his orthopedic residency at the New York University Langone Hospital and a fellowship at the Kerlan Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles. During his fellowship, Dr. Kaplan served as an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and Anaheim Ducks.
He is a member of the NFL Physician Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Kaplan is also a team physician for the Bolles School and consults with numerous high school and colleges in the Southeast.
