Mike Perkins is in his 32nd year with the Jaguars. In 2025, he was promoted to vice president and special advisor to the Executive Vice President of Football Operations. His primary role is overseeing the football technology department for football operations, but he has worn many hats since joining the Jaguars in 1994. The football technology department manages all IT needs for the football side of the organization. Perkins was instrumental in assisting with IT needs for the first virtual NFL Draft in league history in 2020.
After 18 years as the Jaguars' video director, Perkins was promoted in 2012 to director of football technology and facilities. Perkins' duties included the design and construction of the Jaguars' locker room upgrade at the stadium, in addition to the design, planning and implementation of office space and technology for the football facilities.
In 2013, he served as project manager for phase two of the construction, bringing a new training room, rehab room and coaches offices online. He also oversaw the design and construction of the new Jaguars football facilities. Another new initiative under Perkins' direction was the implementation of Microsoft Surfaces for use by all coaches, scouts and players to view practice and game video.
Perkins' responsibilities continue to include the shooting, compiling and editing of all game and practice video for coaches' and scouting analysis, cataloging NFL and college game video and producing "cut-ups." He also manages all video equipment and design of the Jaguars' video department, including applying the team's state-of-the-art XOS editing system and researching new technologies as they become available.
One of five current staff members who joined the franchise in 1994, Perkins was hired by the Jaguars on May 12, 1994, after serving as a video coordinator for three years at Syracuse University. Prior to that, he served with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an assistant video director from 1987-90. Perkins was born on May 24, 1967, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
