JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars' trimming and reworking continues.

For a second time in less than a week, the team on Sunday moved on from a player who in recent seasons had been a locker-room leader and front-line player on the defensive line.

Roy Miller III, who signed with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent in the 2013 offseason, has been released by the team. The Jaguars announced the move Sunday afternoon.

Miller's release came three days after the team released defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks. Both players signed with the team in the 2013 offseason.

Miller, a nine-year NFL veteran, started 50 games at nose tackle for the Jaguars in four seasons, starting 44 of a possible 48 games from 2013-2015. He played at a particularly high level in 2015, with teammates and coaches that season saying he deserved Pro Bowl consideration.

Miller played six games this past season before sustaining an Achilles injury that ended his season. Miller, a third-round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, started 34 games in his four seasons with the Buccaneers.

Miller's release was the latest in a series of major roster moves by the Jaguars recently. The Jaguars:

*Finalized a trade acquiring left tackle Branden Albert from the Miami Dolphins for a 2017 seventh-round draft choice and finalized a trade sending tight end Julius Thomas to Miami for a 2018 seventh-round draft choice on Thursday.

*Signed cornerback A.J. Bouye (Houston Texans), defensive end Calais Campbell (Arizona Cardinals), defensive end Lerentee McCray (Buffalo Bills) and safety Barry Church (Dallas Cowboys) as unrestricted free agents on Friday.

*Signed linebacker Audie Cole (Minnesota Vikings), offensive lineman Earl Watford (Arizona) and defensive tackle Stefan Charles (Detroit Lions) as unrestricted free agents on Saturday.

*Re-signed wide receiver Bryan Walters Thursday and re-signed offensive lineman Patrick Omameh Friday.

*Released defensive end Jared Odrick, Marks and cornerback Davon House in recent weeks.

Three other Jaguars players from last season – safety Johnathan Cyprien, cornerback Prince Amukamara and offensive lineman Luke Joeckel – have signed elsewhere as unrestricted free agents. Cyprien signed with the Tennessee Titans, Joeckel signed with the Seattle Seahawks and Amukamara signed with the Chicago Bears.
