JACKSONVILLE – Center Brandon Linder won't play against the Steelers Sunday.
Wide receiver Jaelen Strong will not play, either, with the Jaguars ruling out both players when neither traveled with the team to Pittsburgh Saturday. The Jaguars (2-2) will play the Steelers (3-1) at Heinz Field Sunday at 1 p.m.
Linder's absence means the Jaguars will be without their starting center. Tyler Shatley could move into the starting role there, and the team elevated interior lineman Chris Reed to the active roster on Saturday morning.
The team released third-team quarterback Ryan Nassib to make room for Reed on the active roster.
Strong, like Linder, was listed as questionable on the team's final injury report of the week Friday. He has yet to play for the Jaguars since being claimed off waivers from Houston on September 19.
Starting wide receiver Marqise Lee, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before practicing limited Friday with a rib injury sustained against the New York Jets last Sunday. He made the trip.
The Jaguars have four healthy receivers entering Sunday's game: starter Allen Hurns, rookie Keelan Cole, Max McCaffrey and veteran special teams specialist Arrelious Benn.
