Jacksonville Jaguars punter Bryan Barker is one-tenth of a yard away from the NFL's net punting record for one season. The league record is 39.9 net yards, and Barker's net punting average through 13 games is 39.8 yards.

Barker currently leads the NFL in both net punting and gross punting (46.3). In fact, his gross punting average is tied for the second-best mark in the NFL in the last 32 years. He has punted 55 times, with just six touchbacks and 23 kicks inside the 20.

Barker credits the Jaguars' punt coverage team for his success. "It's a team game," he said, "and there are 11 players on the punt team. We all count on each other. Therefore, any success we have should be thought of as team success, not individual success."
