Boselli to call preseason

Former Jaguars offensive tackle Tony Boselli will be joining the team's broadcast booth as television color analyst for the Jaguars' 2006 preseason. Boselli will team with veteran play-by-play announcer Curt Menefee of Fox Sports to call the team's three locally-produced games on WTEV-TV CBS 47. CBS 47 sports director Dennis Evans will serve as field reporter for the preseason broadcasts, as he did in 2005.

Boselli, one of the most popular players in Jaguars history and currently a co-host on sports talk radio, returned with his family to Jacksonville earlier this year. The first college draft choice in franchise history, Boselli played for the Jaguars from 1995 through the 2001 season, appearing in 91 games and five Pro Bowls. He will become the inaugural inductee into the "Pride of the Jaguars" on October 8.

Menefee, who has been with Fox Sports since 1997, previously served as a sports anchor in Jacksonville at WTLV-TV. He has called play-by-play on broadcasts of NFL games as well as NFL Europe contests for Fox Sports and Fox Sports Net. Menefee has also served as sports news anchor and show host at WNYW-TV and MSG in New York.

"I'm excited about this opportunity and I'm eager for this new challenge," Boselli said. "My family and I are glad to be back in Jacksonville, and I have wanted to become involved with the Jaguars in some capacity. This will be fun."

"I'm looking forward to working with Tony in calling the Jaguars games," Menefee said. "This is a team on the rise, and it opens the regular season with some big games. We'll help the Jaguars fans follow the team's development through the preseason."

The Jaguars will have three local broadcasts this preseason – August 12 at the Miami Dolphins, August 19 vs. the Carolina Panthers, and August 31 at the Atlanta Falcons. Their August 26 game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be televised nationally on CBS.
