Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Tony Boselli underwent surgery today at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute to remove loose bodies in his right ankle. Surgery was performed by Jaguars head team physician Dr. Stephen Lucie and JOI foot and ankle specialist Dr. Hiram Carrasquillo.
The surgery was performed at this time to allow Boselli a complete rehabilitation program and to be ready for the start of training camp on July 24.
Boselli originally injured his ankle in a game last November 2 against the Tennessee Oilers in Memphis, and he missed four of the final eight games of the regular season. Boselli did play in the wild-card playoff at Denver and in the Pro Bowl, but the ankle continued to bother him in the team's offseason workout program.
