The following a transcript of Brian Smith's conference call following his selection in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

(on if he is completely healthy) "Right now I am ready to go. It has been almost five months now since that injury. I have been rehabbing every since then. I am just ready to go out and show everybody what I can do."

(on if he ran the 40-yard dash at his pro day) "I didn't run the 40-yard dash. I just did defensive line drills and I did linebacker drills. They went off my 40 time as a junior which was 4.65."

(on how he expects to be used by the Jaguars) "I think as a pass rusher and that is what I would rather do. That is what I have a passion for doing, rushing the passer. They like my get off. That is what they were telling me. I wouldn't mind that all just going in there being a pass rusher. I would love to stay on the field as much as possible. I'm a designated pass rusher for now and I'm just thankful for the opportunity."

(on if this was where he thought he would have been drafted) "With the hip injury, I was hoping third round. Fourth is okay for me. This is right around where I wanted to go."

(on if he is ready to move to Jacksonville) "It is a great place. All the coaches seem very nice and real competitive. I was there prior to my visit. The city looks cool and one of the bigger cities I have been around."
