Jaguars safety Carnell Lake will undergo surgery on Monday to repair a stress fracture in his left foot.
Lake originally was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left navicular bone in February, and he underwent surgery in March. He felt good enough to return to the practice field and did so on August 1. However, with increased activity in team drills, pain re-occured in his foot and re-evaluation became necessary. Recent X-ray studies have shown insufficient healing of the stress fracture. After consulting several foot specialists in Jacksonville and around the country, it was determined that further surgery is necessary on Lake's foot. There will be a lengthy process of rehabilitation necessary following surgery.
