The Jaguars made two roster moves today, waiving wide receiver/kick returner Chad Owens and signing running back Rich Alexis from the practice squad. Alexis had spent the entire season on the Jaguars practice squad.
Alexis, 25, was originally signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted rookie out of Washington in 2004. The 6-0, 213-pound running back played in three games in 2005, including the postseason game at New England after spending almost all of his rookie season on the practice squad.
Owens, 24, had played in four games this season as the team's punt returner. The 5-7, 188-pounder returned nine punts for 56 yards (6.2 avg.). He was originally a sixth-round pick of the Jaguars out of Hawaii in the 2005 NFL Draft.
